Tilera Challenge X86 Chip with 100 processor cores
Development company launched a processor chip Tilera TILE-GX series which claimed 10 times better for computing the efficiency of the next generation chip from Intel, Westmare.
Tilera artificial processor is processed with 40-nanometer TSMC is able to operate until 1:50 GHz with power consumption levels of between 10 to 55 watts, including low-to-chip class.
“TILE-GX processor line is available with Tilera artificial cores 16, 36, 64 and 100. This product uses remote-scale architecture is unique, with capabilities beyond the traditional microprocessor core,” explained spokesman Bob Doud Tilera to TG Daily, the Legal quoted Monday (26/10/2009).
“Tilera chip using two-dimensional iMesh interconnect which was to eliminate the need of on-chip and the system Dynamic Distributed Cache (DDC) which allows each core to the local cache coherent distributed throughout the chip,” he added.
